Accountant- Commercial Real Estate

Our property management client is looking for a Property Accountant for their rapidly growing business in Stillwater, MN. This is a full-time, on-site role.

This company is in the storage business, is nationwide and expanding like crazy. They have been in business for 50+ years!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, P&L) and maintain the general ledger.


2. Reconcile bank, cash disbursement, payroll, and customer accounts.


3. Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling receivables and payables, and handling fixed asset depreciation and accruals.


4. Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare transaction reports before settlement.


5. Approve financial transactions within designated limits.


6. Investigate and correct errors in financial entries and reports.


7. Recommend improvements for accounting reserves, assets, and expenditures.


8. Assist external auditors with required documentation for annual audits.


9. Prepare and file tax forms with government agencies.


10. Install, modify, and document accounting controls; ensure compliance with GAAP and company procedures.


11. Coordinate with software vendors to maintain and enhance accounting systems.


12. Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of accounting experience in property management/real estate


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with Yardi a HUGE plus.


• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines effectively.

SALARY: $68-$75K per year, full benefits
