Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end payroll cycles, including off-cycle and multi-state payrolls.
Troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues, identifying root causes and downstream impacts.
Support and implement payroll strategies, system enhancements, and compliance measures in collaboration with IT, HRIS, and Operations.
Ensure accurate payroll tax handling for both non-profit and for-profit entities.
Supervise payroll staff and promote best practices in payroll processing and accounting.
Work with large datasets, Excel spreadsheets, and query tools to ensure payroll accuracy.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of payroll and payroll tax experience, including multi-state processing.
Management experience leading payroll teams or functions.
Strong knowledge of timekeeping systems (Kronos or similar) and payroll platforms (PeopleSoft preferred).
Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with SQL or PeopleSoft queries is a plus.
High attention to detail and data integrity.
Preferred Certifications:
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
