Procas Experience Required

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with experience in Government Contracting (GovCon) and proficiency in Procas Accounting Software to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices specific to the government contracting industry, including compliance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and CAS (Cost Accounting Standards). You will be responsible for handling government contract accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. This position requires someone who is highly organized, proactive, and adept at using Procas or similar accounting systems to manage complex contract accounting tasks.

• Manage the accounting for government contracts, ensuring compliance with FAR, CAS, and other relevant regulations.
• Prepare and maintain project cost structures, including labor, overhead, and direct costs, for government contracts.
• Perform job cost accounting, including budgeting, tracking, and analyzing costs associated with government contracts.
• Prepare and submit timely and accurate invoices for government contracts in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure that billing rates, labor categories, and expenses are accurately tracked and compliant with government contract requirements.
• Use Procas Accounting Software to record, track, and report financial data for government contracts.
• Process journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments in Procas to ensure accuracy of contract accounting records.
• Manage Procas timesheet and labor distribution, ensuring proper allocation of labor costs across multiple contracts.
• Leverage Procas reporting features to generate financial reports, job cost reports, and project profitability analyses.

• 1+ years of experience in accounting within the government contracting (GovCon) industry.
• Hands-on experience with Procas Accounting Software or similar government contracting accounting software.
• In-depth knowledge of FAR, CAS, and other regulations governing government contracts.
• Experience in preparing Indirect Rate Proposals, Job Costing, and Financial Reporting for government contracts.
