Accounting Assistant

This position is directly responsible for invoicing and accounts receivable functions ensuring that invoices are properly priced and match the BOL to ERP and PO. There are no supervisory responsibilities. 

· Receives paperwork from the plant and compares to ERP system and customers PO.

· Investigates discrepancies.

· Prepares invoice in the ERP system usually the day after shipment.

· Has the invoice reviewed for accuracy prior to sending out for payment.

· Tracks receivables and prepares a daily aging report.

· Apply cash to outstanding customer invoices.

· Manage collections from customers.

· Accounts Payable (cross trained) As needed.

· Maintains accounting filing systems assigned. 

· Perform other tasks and roles as assigned.

  Required abilities

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

· Good verbal and written communication skills. 

· Good interpersonal skills. 

· Ability to work independently.

· Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing. 

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 

· Experience in an ERP environment a plus.

 Education and Experience 

· High school diploma or equivalent required

  · Associates degree or comparable experience in a related field preferred. 

· Three to five years of experience in an AP/AR role with some accounting experience preferred.

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

· Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
