Accounting Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to perform a variety of accounting and bookkeeping tasks.

The candidate should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and multitask. The applicant must be a strong communicator, both written and verbal, as they will frequently interact with employees in other offices and departments.

Responsibilities:

• Daily banking activities.
• Prepare reconciliation of insurance carrier commission statements.
• Prepare reconciliation of company payable statements. Resolve accounting discrepancies with insurance carriers and/or account managers.
• Post payments and EFT transactions to customer accounts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Well-organized and detail-oriented.
• Must be able to multi-task and balance multiple high priority tasks.
• Must demonstrate “team player” characteristics, but also be self-motivated.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
• Experience with Applied EPIC or other insurance agency management system is preferred, but not required.

Education

• College degree not required.
• 1-2 years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping preferred.
