Accounting Clerk

Pay rate will be between $16.00 to $19.50 per hour (based on experience), includes insurance and time off benefits

Full-Time working 37.5 hours per week - Hybrid position working 4 days in office and 1 day remotely

Easterseals Florida is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to provide essential accounting and administrative support to our Accounting Department and Headquarters office. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a blend of financial tasks and front-office interaction in a mission-driven nonprofit environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Receipt, deposit, and code incoming payments; review daily cash logs and ACH deposits
• Research payment origins and assign correct general ledger codes
• Reconcile and enter assigned invoices; review provider invoices and employee travel reimbursements for accuracy
• Enter program invoices and process payments following AP procedures
• Prepare weekly recommended payments report and run weekly AP checks
• Maintain complete and accurate vendor files
• Provide backup support for CSC contract billing, Accounts Payable Specialist, and Administrative Assistant
• Assist with phones, greeting visitors, routing mail/faxes, and general office support
• Manage office supplies, equipment needs, and facility-related requests
• Process incoming and outgoing mail; handle checks and cash per accounting policies and privacy rules

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least 1 year of accounting experience
• At least 2 years of customer service or administrative experience
• Experience with accounting or database systems; ability to learn new software quickly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs
• Integrity, tact, good judgment, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Positive attitude toward individuals with disabilities and alignment with the Easterseals mission and philosophy
• Ability to meet approved driver qualifications (minimum age 21 with a good driving record) for occasional business use of a personal vehicle
