accounting clerk - Immediate Start

Robert Half has an exciting entry-level opportunity available for an Accountant position in the Retail industry. The ideal candidate would have a positive attitude and loves working with Excel. This is a long-term contract / temporary entry-level Accountant role based in Westlake, Ohio. The Accountant will be responsible for data entry, financial statement review, and Excel spreadsheet creation and manipulation. They will report to the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities

- Assisting with full cycle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes

- Enter data

- Assisting with audit fieldwork for both financial and operational audits

- Executing other related duties and partaking in special projects as assigned

- Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts

- Preparing monthly journal entries

- Investigating and correcting account discrepancies- Willing to work as part of a team or independently and have the drive to take on a variety of tasks and projects

- Suggested education is an AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred

- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

- Adeptness in Financial Control

- Demonstrated knowledge of Record Keeping

- Account reconciliation experience

- Journal entries experience

- Monthly Bank Reconciliation experience

- Bank reconciliations experience

- Ad Hoc Reporting experience

- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

- At minimum, 1 year of relevant accounting experience

- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
