Accounting Manager

Job Purpose:

This candidate will be responsible for the entire Accounts Receivable function including billing, cash application, aging’s, collections and filing of liens when needed for a construction company.  Liaison between accounting department and other departments to help facilitate problem solving and support as needed.  Will work as a professional team member with management, customers, accountants, business associates, supervisors, co-workers and tradesmen.  This position reports directly to the company controller.

Job Duties:

• Process invoices and progress billings into the receivable system.  Maintain cash sales receipt/register in an accurate and timely manner.


• Verify deposits and post customer payments by recording cash, checks, credit cards and direct deposit transactions into the Accounts Receivable system.


• Ensure customer collection records are current, and research and investigate non-payment situations.  Initiate and communicate with management on non-payment issues and file liens when appropriate.


• Set up jobs with proper cost codes and help to ensure accuracy of job cost reporting.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge with AIA construction billing is required.


• Sage 300C.R.E. experience is preferred.


• Bookkeeping or introductory accounting experience a plus.
