Accounting Manager – Construction Experience Needed

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 plus performance-based bonuses

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure project and company success
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and efficient processing
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports with actionable insights
• Conduct financial analysis to support project managers and optimize performance and profitability
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies, including California mechanics lien laws and waiver tracking
• Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve financial challenges and strengthen partnerships
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Mentor and lead an accounting team, building a collaborative, high-performing environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in construction accounting
• Strong knowledge of job costing and percentage-of-completion methods
• Advanced proficiency with CMiC software, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Excel
• In-depth understanding of California mechanics lien laws, requirements, and waiver tracking
• Experience with prevailing wage reporting and public works contracting
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively across teams and stakeholders
• Integrity and meticulous attention to detail in all financial matters
