Summary:

 

The Accounting Manager will lead a team of Senior and Staff Accountants responsible for recording, reconciling, and reporting all financial transactions, while also directly managing a small portfolio. This role will collaborate closely with our client-company teams, their clients, and other accounting professionals to ensure timely, responsive support for all stakeholders.

Salary range: 

$105K - $110K



  • Hours are typically Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm 

  • For consideration, candidates must live in CA, WA, OR, AZ or NV



What you'll do - Includes but not limited to:



  • Compiles and analyzes periodic financial statements and various accounting schedules for a small portfolio of properties, ensuring that all property, client and internal PSG financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles and/or financial reporting standards.

  • Makes appropriate journal entries in the general ledgers by checking calculations, reviewing basis for figures, and balancing and reconciling accounts. Ensures that all client and internal deposits are recorded in a timely manner.

  • Reviews and reconciles accounting documents, researches, and resolves discrepancies as necessary.

  • Assists with banking as needed, to include initiating wire transfers, performing multi-factor authentication and ensuring timely approval of outgoing payments.

  • Manages property cash flow including provisions for property taxes, reserves for replacements and lender or investor-client-related escrows.

  • Reviews budget reports and assists clients and other internal departments to prepare annual budgets.

  • Assists lenders, auditors, and clients with various requests for quarterly financials, external audits, or data for tax preparation.

  • Reports state and municipal tax returns, i.e.: sales and use tax, personal property tax, and rental unit business tax statements.

  • Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.

  • Communicate with clients, their team members and property investor - clients, as well as PSG team members, key business stakeholders, and others to answer questions, provide support, and ensure timely completion of accounting tasks.

  • Partner with the team to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the property accounting and finance functions, including the development and management of all internal and external property-specific financial controls and reports.

  • Review select monthly financial statement preparation across the property portfolios to assure high quality and consistent property accounting.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business from an accredited College or University and 3-5 years of property management experience are required.

  • Must be computer literate including an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and other Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of Entrata, AppFolio or other property management accounting software preferred.
