Quanex is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team located in Houston, Texas.
As an Accounting Manager, you will oversee and perform the corporate accounting and payroll accounting functions. This position plays a key role within a dynamic finance/accounting organization and interacts with various functions, including local and remote finance teams and auditors. A successful candidate will be able to foster teamwork and develop relationships with the various segment-level finance groups that the corporate accounting team supports.

What Success Looks Like:
Manage and perform corporate accounting and payroll accounting functions.
Improve monthly close process and reduce time to close, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
Oversee and ensure accuracy of the intercompany consolidation process with all entities, both foreign and domestic.
Generate monthly departmental cost reports and respond to requests for further information regarding variances and other explanations as needed.
Prepare monthly variance analysis.
Assist with preparation and analysis of corporate income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts.
Ensure accuracy and documentation of controls environment.
Coordinate with both internal auditor and external auditors.
Direct activities related to CorporateERPsystemsrelatedtofunctionalareasandstriveforcontinuous improvement.
Oversee division records retention and document management
Performs other related duties as necessary or
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Previous experience in role of supervisor/manager
Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office applications and strong skills in Excel and report
Ability to analyze, interpret, compare, and explain variances and fluctuations
Strong interpersonal and team-oriented
Ability to prioritize tasks and change focus as new information becomes
The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $130,000 with bonus potential.
