Overview\n\nWe are seeking an Accounting Manager to play a key role in Alnylam\u2019s core accounting operations, including monthly close, audits, systems, and application of accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This hands\u2011on role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate cross\u2011functionally in a dynamic environment.\n\nReporting to the Accounting Senior Manager, this position partners closely with the accounting team, internal stakeholders, and external advisors to help shape a high\u2011performing accounting function that supports the company\u2019s growth.\n\nThis position is hybrid and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analytical reviews.\n * Support accounting for R\u0026D accruals, including preclinical and clinical trial accruals.\n * Partner with FP\u0026A to ensure actuals align with forecasts; reconcile U.S. GAAP versus management reporting variances.\n * Assist with technical accounting efforts, including preparation of accounting memos and implementation of conclusions.\n * Support external reporting by providing timely and accurate input to the SEC reporting team.\n * Ensure effective internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with SOX requirements; assist with new control design as operations scale.\n * Support improvement and building of appropriate systems and processes to facilitate timely and accurate monthly accounting and financial close process\n * Contribute to improvements in accounting processes, systems, and close efficiency while maintaining high reporting quality.\n * Provide clear explanations of accounting results and adjustments to the Accounting Senior Manager to support the accounting close.\n * Support ad hoc projects and analyses, as needed.\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting required, Master\u2019s degree preferred.\n * Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in public accounting (Big 4) and/or private industry required.\n * CPA license or completion of all CPA exams strongly preferred.\n * Global clinical accrual experience is strongly preferred.\n * Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with SOX compliance.\n * SAP experience preferred.\n * Detail\u2011oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.\n * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.\n\n\n\n#LI-MH1 #LI-Hybrid\n\nU.S. Pay Range\n\n$117,300.00 - $158,700.00\n\nThe pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
