Job Description - Accounting Manager

Position Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Finance Controller, Vizgen is seeking an Accounting Manager to support our rapidly growing organization. This key financial position will support the Controller in building a high-performing finance organization. The Accounting Manager is responsible for contributing to several key accounting functions including revenue, accruals (royalties, commissions), month-end close, audit, and more. This is a terrific opportunity for a versatile and motivated individual looking to broaden their operational knowledge by having exposure to many tasks within our accounting team.

Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Controller, develop and implement standard accounting policies and procedures compliant with US GAAP. Ensure accounting policies are consistently applied across all business units
Manage and develop accounting staff, including hiring, performance management, and training staff
Provides accurate and timely processing of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close
Oversee credit cards and expense reimbursement processes by ensuring appropriate relations to business activity and compliance with the Company's expense policy.
Review monthly reconciliations on bank and other relevant balance sheet accounts
Manage payroll for accurate employee pay, working closely with HR department
Prepare royalty calculations and reports
Prepare quarter commission calculations for global sales team
Work closely with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support
Prepare revenue recognition calculations and reconciliation
Supervise tax calculations and filings

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is required.
At least 8-10 years’ experience, preferably with a background in public accounting, CPA preferred.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience running a month-end close and monthly financial reporting process
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Experience using NetSuite or other similar ERP or accounting information system is preferred but not required.
Collaborative team player, while also capable of doing self-directed / self-initiated work.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Exemplary planning and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
Willingness to be hands on and get heavily involved in transaction details.
