Job Title: Accounting Manager

Role duration of 5.5 mo.s

Work Location: Palo Alto, California, 94306 (Prefer for the candidate to be working physically in the Santa Monica Office (or Palo Alto office) but remote is open for very strong candidates)

Pay rate range: $65-$85/hr.

Job Description

What youll do:

Develop relationships and work closely with business partners to provide accounting and business support, including research and recommendations on accounting issues, changes in judgments and estimates that impact financial results, as well as the implementation of accounting changes

Work cross-functionally with business partners on non-standard transactions, revenue contracts, content partner arrangements, and third-party sales support, to align on the downstream impacts, controls, and reporting needs for financial close. Design and implement new processes and controls as needed.

Analyze, organize, and deliver information that move teams to decisions and action

Review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for areas as assigned, ensuring high-quality work product and level of detail

Prepare and review materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis

Assess, research, and document appropriate US GAAP treatment for various transactions within the business

Work at the lowest level of detail to understand Company operations and identify accounting issues.

Identify risks in and drive process enhancements, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX.

Provide support for the external financial statement audits, as well as periodic internal audits

Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP and ability to document accounting conclusions

Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment

Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization

Exceptional analytical skills, including Excel

A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

Exceptional organizational skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experience

6 years of experience as an accounting professional

CPA License

Preferred Qualifications:

Big 4 firm experience

Fortune 500 and/or private company experience

Experience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, Netsuite, etc.)

3 years with a focus on Revenue Recognition or Payroll Accounting.
