Job Description - Accounting Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager will assist the Kornerstone Controller with month-end close and reporting, trend analyses summarizing potential problem areas and opportunities for improved profitability relative to monthly and annual forecasts. Help with the yearly financial statement audit. Must have a willingness to learn and grow as the company continues to grow and expand into new product lines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist the controller with accounting functions to include:* Manage month-end close process* Financial reporting and analysis* ASC 606 knowledge/experience* Manage annual aud* Investment accounting* Reinsurance reports* Cash management* Fixed assets* Account Reconciliations

* Comply with the internal and external reporting requirements in accordance with guidelines, format, and the time frame requested. Review reports with Managers and provide analysis as necessary.* Review and audit documents for completeness and accuracy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in accounting required* Audit knowledge is helpful* Detailed oriented* Desire to learn and grow in your career* Willing to work extra hours as needed to meet deadlines* Must be team oriented and have a collaborative work style* Critical thinking skills to perform needed analysis and provide useful financial reports* Must be able to interact with many levels of staff effectively communicating what is needed

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Must be well-versed in all Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally an office environment.
