We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Permanent Accounting Manager. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a fast-paced, high-growth construction and services company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis, and managing cash forecasting. This position will require a strategic thinker with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a keen ability to identify and implement process improvements.
Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing and managing the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
7. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Performing and overseeing the monthly reconciliation of all general ledger accounts.
11. Conducting regular cash flow analysis and forecasting to ensure the company maintains a healthy financial status.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
3. Proven working experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager.
4. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
5. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
6. High attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Ability to direct and supervise.
8. Knowledge of construction industry-specific accounting software would be a plus.
9. Professional certification such as CMA or CPA is highly desirable.
