Overview: Titan Brands is looking for a highly motivated Accounting Professional who wants to grow with our company as a key member of our Finance team.  The successful candidate will be comfortable with data and use the power of NetSuite and other cool reporting tools to make the routine tasks efficient and improve the processes you work on every day.  You will be our go-to person because of the way you interact within our team and with those across the company who will rely on your knowledge.   

Of course, you know accounting well and don’t need someone to hold your hand while you do your work.  You pick up on things well and can handle a lot of different things at once without dropping the ball on any of them.  You take pride in optimizing the month end account reconciliations and journal entries, so that you can take on more challenging projects and new processes.  You will know the details and are analytical; you know the story behind the numbers.  You are an effective communicator because you “get it”.  And, most importantly, you are fun to work with because you possess a positive attitude and a pleasant personality. 

Success Looks Like This: 

• You handle the month end reporting and account reconciliations - remaining on top of your areas of responsibility such that the time sensitive work associated with the month end closing is routine rather than overwhelming.  Your results will be timely and right - so as to be trusted every month. 
• As an e-commerce company, you are comfortable with high volume electronic transaction analysis and reporting 
• You understand and analyze international freight and duties transactions as they relate to finished goods inventory in distribution centers. 
• You understand sales, returns, credit memos, transaction fees and how to account for them. 
• You work on processes related to our own Shopify websites as well as third party platforms like Amazon, eBay and Wal-Mart.    
• You and your teammates work together to manage the flow and ensure accurate recordation from banking, credit card and merchant accounts.  This will include semi-automated bank account reconciliations so that your team has timely, accurate transactional information to complete their work during the month. 
• You collaborate with other departments on strategic projects and process improvements. Involvement will require problem solving, communication, presentation, and analytical skills. 
• Develop and assist in automating accounting processes, analysis techniques, and reporting functionality 
• Prepare analysis for budgeting and forecasting using the insights and knowledge you have from your expert understanding of your accounts 
• You handle sales tax filings with Avalara’s help & file the state taxes prepared by a third party CPA.   
• You prepare work papers for the audit and be able to explain/defend your work 
• You love the fact that your job responsibilities two years from now will look different than they do on day one because you understand the changing nature of accounting in an e-commerce company

Requirements

• A great attitude owned by someone who wants to grow with the company and be a key member of the team.  You actually like working with your peers to produce reliable financial information so that Titan can operate smartly and be trusted externally 
• We’d like for you to have the appropriate technical background, like an accounting degree from a respected college program.  If you have a CPA or are working on it, that’s a plus.  
• We do not need someone who is completely new to a professional work life.   
• We want someone who can see themselves working with us for the next five or ten years because they like the people they will be working with and because the work is so interesting that it will keep you engaged and challenged 
• It’s hard to succeed in this role without exceptional Excel skills.  You must also be proficient with NetSuite or be able to pick it up quickly because you have extensive experience with other large ERP systems.   
• Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task, critical thinker, and self-starter 
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service to the Titan team 
• Teachable active learner
