Job Overview: 

GSP is looking for an Accounting Specialist to work in a challenging and fast paced environment. This role maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and processing payables and receivables. Assists in maintaining inventory tracking and reporting. 

Responsibilities: 

• Processes accounts payable and/or accounts receivable invoices and receipts for multiple divisions. Processes billing for multiple divisions.
• Researches and processes customer claims of invoice payment, charge backs, returns, etc.
• Prepares daily cash deposits and fills out cash control sheet.
• Reports sales and use tax to State of Vermont and record keeping.
• Maintains general ledger by entering payables and/or receivables.
• Maintains historical records by filing documents.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
• Other duties as required.

• Maintains positive internal relationships with all departments.
• Maintains exceptional customer service.

Requirements

Job Specifications:

• Associates Degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to read and interpret common financial reports and documents.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (including Outlook Excel and Word with significant experience in creating and utilizing Excel spreadsheets) and manufacturing software
• Knowledge of regulatory accounting requirements
• Attention to detail, accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
