About the Role

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for a variety of accounting functions related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting while embodying our core values of Great People, Going Beyond, and Growing.

What You’ll Do

• Review, enter, and prepare accounts payable invoices for payment.
• Process check runs and payments to vendors/suppliers in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Serves as the contact for questions and problem solving for Accounts Payable.
• Maintain vendor files and ensure W-9 and 1099 documentation is up to date.
• Generate and manage customer invoices and credit memos.
• Process daily cash receipts, record bank adjustments, and handle bank transfers within ERP system.
• Verify, adjust, and close completed jobs to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in month-end close processes.
• Maintain proper documentation for accounting records.
• Assist with preparation for audits.
• Provide backup support for greeting visitors and answering phones. 
• Other duties as assigned.

 Education and Experience:

• Associate’s degree in accounting or work experience in place of education.
• 1+ year of experience working in an accounting or related position.
• Experience using Epicor preferred, or other similar ERP systems.
• Experience in a manufacturing organization preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Very strong organizational and time management skills with a strong aptitude for details.
• Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• General knowledge of accounting and understanding of the general ledger accounts.
• Ability to perform job duties with disruptions (i.e. phone, visitors, staff, etc.) throughout the duration of the shift.
• Able to use metrics to support organizational objectives and goals.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Ensures all internal and external customers receive positive service experiences.
• Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette.
• The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ability for calculated risk taking; independent decision maker.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to express ideas, share information, listen actively, and demonstrate professionalism in written and verbal communications.
