Status:                                Full-time

Pay Band/Wage Range: $24.00 - $33.00 (Pay Band 5) BOE

Range Mental Health Center is proud to be a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). The goals of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics program in MN are to 1) increase access to community-based mental health and substance use disorder services (particularly to under-served communities), 2) advance integration of behavioral health with physical health care, and 3) improve utilization of evidence-based practices on a more consistent basis.

Job Summary:

The Accounting Specialist plays an integral role in supporting the daily accounting functions. This position will collaborate with Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Program Managers. This position will support the CFO and Director of Business Operations with month-end procedures as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • The development and facilitation of budgets.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Code invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts and closes the monthly books.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, verifies deposits, addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual single audit.
  • Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Process accounts payable batches on a regular schedule. 
  • Process expense reimbursements on a regular schedule
  • Develop and submit grant invoices. 
  • Manage and reconcile credit card statements and receipts.
  • Perform reconciliation of accounts within the general ledger as delegated.
  • Perform general accounting tasks including but not limited to posting of journal entries, running reports, and maintaining accounting spreadsheets.
  • Track and monitor tenant rents and fundraising. 
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of state and federal tax forms.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Two-year degree is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Expertise with Excel and QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Philosophical approach consistent with Range Mental Health Center’s mission.
  • Two years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting, or finance is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 
  • Adequate level of vision to use computer terminal, monitor, and keyboard.
  • Sufficient hearing to accurately record and respond to information received verbally via phone, in person, and in a group setting.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Must be 18 years of age. 
  • Must be able to maintain a Minnesota driver's license and auto insurance
