Job Description - Accounting Specialist

This position is responsible for assisting the accounting department with the day-to-day tasks. Including but not limited to, receiving and applying checks, posting quantities, signing lien waivers, recording entries, and completing monthly reconciliations.

Principal Responsibilities:

Receiving checks
Applying checks to the correct invoice, AIA, and estimates in the accounting software
Applying paid quantities to unit price billings
Create new estimates as necessary
Sign and return lien waivers
Communicate with project managers on accounts receivable collections
Prepare journal entries
Reconcile general ledger accounts
Prepare bank reconciliations

Requirements:

Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
Must be familiar with computers, emailing, and able to work with Microsoft applications
Detail oriented
Effective verbal and written communication skills

Skills and Abilities:

Understanding of all accounting sequencing/critical timeline scheduling.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and documentation skills.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
