Accounting Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is assisting a company in Chicago with a search for an Accounting Specialist. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for both accounts payable and accounts receivable as well as assisting with month end close. This role is temporary to hire and onsite. The Accounting Specialist is involved with accounting transactions and month end close with exposure to various areas of the business.

Responsibilities:
Manage the payment schedule and process accounts payable

Review and analyze payments to ensure accuracy

Verify items received and match to invoices

Reconcile payments and vendor statements

Maintain customer accounts

Apply payments to customer accounts

Research and resolve discrepancies and short pays

Invoicing and collections follow up

Adjust accounts and accruals

Reconcile AR for month end

Support month end with reconciliations, journal entries and reporting

Assist with special projects and audits

Required:
2 years of prior accounting experience in a similar role

Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Analytical with problem solving skills and deadline driven

Ability to keep up in a fast paced environment

Pay: $26-$32/hour

Pay Details:

$26.00 to $32.00 per hour
