Accounting Specialist | Norfolk, VA
Job Description:
Reviews monthly activity from vacation companies and prepare necessary journal entries to post activity in Prologue in accordance with GAAP
Prepares monthly reconciliations of vacation balance sheet accounts
Run monthly reports from property management software(s) to calculate future revenues
Calculate monthly allowance for cancellations on future reservations
Assist with monthly variance analysis
Prepares and analyzes large amounts of data using Excel and summarizes findings
Work with vacation accounting staff to ensure fixed assets are capitalized according to company policy
Run monthly metric reports from Key Data and prepare monthly statistical journal entry file for upload
Assist with preparing sections of the monthly Board Report
Assist with special projects
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or 2+ years GL accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP accounting
Ability to create/use pivot tables & vlookups for large data sets
