Accounting Specialist - Urgent Position

• Assist with relevant administrative duties, such as responding to client inquiries via email, handling invoices, and maintaining organized records.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient accounting processes and procedures to streamline operations and improve accuracy.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting requirements and meet deadlines.

Position Summary

We are looking for an accounting specialist who is conscientious, detail-oriented and a team player. The accounting specialist will be responsible for daily accounting tasks, including processing debits & credits, journal entries, store billings, etc. In addition, the accounting specialist will carry out relevant administrative duties (e.g. responding to clients via email and handling invoices).

Essential Job Functions

• Process debit and credit memos, shortages, allowance claims and merchandise returns
• Analyze and verify information by creating spreadsheet reports
• Respond to information requests from customers
• Process check runs and electronic payments
• Prepare, verify and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP standards
• Maintain personal auto usage for tax reporting purposes
• Assist with audit preparation
• Process weekly store billings
• Record non-inventory payables
• Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures
• Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as assigned by Senior Accountant, Controller or CFO
• Is regular in attendance and complies with the Company Attendance Policy

Competencies

• Strong computer and data entry skills, including MS outlook, word, excel and teams
• Ability to multi-task to ensure deadlines are met
• Detail oriented and thorough
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality

Education and Experience

• Associate degree or High School graduate
• 2-3 years of accounting experience
