Accounts Payable Specialist

Overview

We are seeking an efficient and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist at Best Choice Roofing, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all accounts payable transactions and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. The ideal candidate for this role is organized, responsible, knowledgeable of basic accounting principles, and capable of working independently to meet deadlines. Related experience is a plus, but for a candidate with the right soft skills we will be willing to train for this role.

Key Responsibilities

As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for essential accounts payable functions, including efficient data entry, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring accounts are paid in a timely manner. Other responsibilities include:

• Maintaining accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
• Reviewing subcontractor and general expense invoices and entering into Netsuite
• Collaborating with internal teams to resolve any invoicing or payment issues
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting standards (GAAP)
• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable

Qualifications

• Must possess basic understanding of accounting credit/debts
• AP, Accounting, or Bookkeeping Experience is preferred
• Experience with Netsuite or other accounting software is preferred 
• Possesses basic proficiency in excel and organizational office tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
• Exceptional organization, analytical, problem solving, and communications skills
• A desire and ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• High school diploma or GED is required 
• Applicants with relevant coursework in accounting or related field may be preferred
