Job Description - Accounts Payable Specialist

Great opportunity with a regional family-owned and professionally managed company, serving the hospitality and healthcare markets since 1934. This position will support the Controller and Assistant Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounts Payable / Accounting Department.


Responsibilities:



  • Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and expense reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance policies and procedures

  • Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers;

  • Provides financial, administrative and clerical support by ensuring payments are completed and expense accounts are charged by cost center.

  • Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers, journals and logs

  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.

  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

  • Assist the Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounts Payable/Accounting

  • Follow our company's established accounting processes

  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required by the Controller or Assistant Controller.



Job requirements:



  • 2+ years' experience in accounting or related field

  • Experience with MAS500 accounting software a plus

  • Proficient in Word and Excel

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
