Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client is looking to hire an Accounts Payable Specialist for their finance team in Toledo! Our client is a steel processing plant that offers cut to length steel for a variety of clients around the country.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will mainly be in charge of managing Accounts Payable by handling vendor invoices, processing payments, and ensuring accurate records.

Successful candidates will have proven accounting experience and MUST have strong Excel knowledge.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) by handling vendor invoices, processing payments, and ensuring accurate records.
- Manage the cash application process and own the overall review of Accounts Receivable aging.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to include income statements and balance sheets; generates reports and deliverables for internal and external stakeholders and ensures accurate reflection of company"s financial position.
- Responsible for bank statement and credit card reconciliations; administers comparisons to determine discrepancies, errors, or potential fraud; identifies risks and ensures accuracy of transactions.
- Ensures accurate tax withholdings for weekly payroll transmission; generates payroll related and compliance reports.
- Manages annual compliance audits for the company including 401k Plan.
- Oversees health benefit plans; administers open enrollment and new hire benefit administration; assists with employee questions and overall benefit communication.
- Manages the company"s insurance policies; coordinates with providers and ensures regulatory compliance requirements; assists President with contract negotiations and broker relationship.

Qualifications:

- 5 years or more of related experience.
- Strong Excel knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of preparing financial statements.
- Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions in a timely manner.
- Manage time effectively and adapt to priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to transition from one task to another.
