Accounts Payable Specialist - Continuous Learning Opportunities

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our company's accounts payable process and ensuring that all vendor invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner. This role will report to the Controller and work closely with other members of the finance team.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
• Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
• Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
• Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
• Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash.
• Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Do You Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least two years of related experience required.
• Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
• Must be able to learn other accounting software systems such as Epicor.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with accounting software
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a plus
