Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. If you want to join a quickly growing accounting team, you might be interested in this job opening with great career growth potential and a great benefits package. Candidates who are able to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L will be most fit for this position. Since the Accounts Receivable Clerk will handle 200+ invoices a week, they must be a self-starter with high attention to detail. This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

- Help resolve payment issues by contacting clients, assist in setting up payment plans
- Promote, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Corroborate documents and codes
- Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
- Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, including skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment
- Communicate information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
- Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in different ledgers
- Process payments and compile segments of annual reports and monthly closings in compliance with GAAP- Proficient in ERP systems
- Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains Accounting
- Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Billing experience preferred
- Analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred
