We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Receivable Clerk to manage application of cash, ACH, and credit card payments as well as assist with customer calls as needed. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payments from residential, commercial, and insurance-based clients. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and have strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Onsite Work Location: This is an onsite full-time position located in Indianapolis, Indiana
(This is not a remote opportunity.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Post daily payments (check, ACH, credit card) accurately and promptly
- Reconcile payment discrepancies, short pays, and credits
- Respond to customer inquiries related to billing or payments via phone
- Support month-end closing by reporting A/R totals and complete open deposit reconciliation and clean-up
- Maintain accurate and up to date customer account information
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, production, and managers) to ensure payment application accuracy
- Daily ACH and Credit Card transaction reporting
- Support collections and customer financing roles as needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Pass a background check
- 2-5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, or similar financial role
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality
- Good interpersonal skills with customers and internal teams
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Experience in the construction, roofing, or service industry preferred
- Familiarity with data entry, Acumatica, Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Excel preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
- $22 - $23 an hour commensurate based on experience
