Accounts Receivable Specialist Cash Application

LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for Cash Application Specialist for a 3-month project with a client in Independence, Oh. The Cash Application Specialist will be responsible for accurately applying payments to customer accounts, ensuring timely and efficient processing of cash receipts. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of the organization by supporting the accounts receivable function and contributing to accurate financial reporting. This is a 3- month contract assignment that could get extended. Pay for this position will range between $16 and $18.50/hr.

Responsibilities:
Accurately apply incoming payments (checks, wire transfers, ACH, credit cards) to customer accounts.

Reconcile daily cash receipts to ensure all payments are accounted for and posted correctly.

Perform regular reconciliations of customer accounts to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate account balances.

Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, including short payments, overpayments, and unapplied cash.

Communicate with customers to obtain payment details and resolve any payment-related issues.

Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to payments and account balances.

Maintain accurate and organized records of all cash application activities.

Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports on cash application and accounts receivable status.

Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or a similar role.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.

Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
