Salary: Starting at $55,000 annually

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. You may work remotely or may work out of our office in Northampton, Massachusetts. CET will provide you with a laptop and other office technology. 

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented person to join our team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. You will work across CET's matrix structure to ensure that we are accurately invoicing our clients. You will assume responsibility for full cycle billing including invoice generation, proofing, editing, and compiling the backup documents and reports required by our contracts. This position does not oversee any direct or indirect reports.

CET has a diverse set of revenue streams from several dozen clients and funding partners and we continuously bid on new work to expand our programs and services. Our diverse portfolio and active business development helps mitigate against ebbs and flows in our workforce needs.

For this exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the realm of decarbonization, you’re a great fit for the Accounts Receivable Specialist role if you can:

  • Initiate the approval process, monitor the status of invoices in the approval chain, and ensure timely monthly financial closings.
  • Determine invoice report requirements and work with appropriate contacts within the organization for timely and accurate preparation.
  • Monitor aging receivables and follow up with clients and the appropriate parties within CET when you need to escalate.
  • Take ownership of accounts receivable by analyzing invoicing processes and results and recommending and implementing continuous improvement measures. 
  • Resolve errors and work to correct them.
  • Support the development of project or program-specific invoicing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

    • A passion for the non-profit, environmental mission of CET.
    • Associates degree or higher with a minimum of 4 year of invoicing, billing, or accounts receivable.
    • CET uses NetSuite, Salesforce, SharePoint, Excel, Teams, and other invoicing software. Experience in these environments strongly preferred.
    • High speed internet access and a working location free from distractions and interference during 8:30 am - 5:00 pm EST business hours. 
    • Excellent communication skills needed with ability to work with stakeholders in the invoicing process across the organization.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.
    • Work style should be flexible, self-directed, professional, hard-working, patient, and problem-solving. 
    • Excellent organizational, accuracy, and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Detail oriented with ability to follow and improve upon stepwise processes.

    Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:
    Including but not limited to the following: Normal office environment. Repetitive keyboarding movements and sitting 6-8 hours/day.  This position, on occasion, will be required to travel to CET offices or other locations.
