Job Description - Acquisitions and Divestitures, Analyst

Job Description

Purpose of the role

To help clients with technical evaluation for acquisitions, divestitures and financial solutions to meet their business objectives.

Accountabilities
  • Analysis of technical (petroleum / reservoir engineering) data to provide inputs for financial model used to market client's asset, or help with investment opportunities.
  • Provision of engineering support for transactions, including drafting presentation materials, and preparing data room documents.
  • Collaboration with other team members in generating A&D / M&A ideas for clients.
  • Building / leveraging of network of industry contacts to stay informed about the technical aspects of the business, and leverage that knowledge for related pitch work and assignments.
  • To help clients with technical evaluation for acquisitions, divestitures and financial solutions to meet their business objectives.

  • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex / sensitive information.
  • Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.

Join Barclays as an Acquisitions and Divestitures, Analyst, where you will support senior bankers on strategically significant M&A transactions. In this role, you'll apply deep analytical skills and industry knowledge to help clients navigate critical acquisition and divestiture strategies and achieve value-creating results.

To be successful as an Acquisitions and Divestitures, Analyst you should have experience with:

  • Related Reservoir Engineering
  • Performing Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) and field development planning, including type curve generation, inventory evaluation and creating drill schedules
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Operations and Geoscience disciplines

Some highly valued skills include:

  • Prior work experience in an A&D team at an Exploration & Production company or in an Investment Bank
  • Preparing and reviewing Virtual Data Rooms related to buy-side and sell-side due diligence
  • Forecasting well production using Aries or Spotfire applications
  • Experience in coding in Python
