Saint Joe’s is seeking a compassionate and organized Active Treatment Specialist to support the implementation and monitoring of person-centered programs for residents with developmental and physical disabilities. This role works closely with QIDPs, therapists, nursing staff, DSPs, and other team members to ensure resident goals are effectively implemented and documented.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist QIDPs with implementing and monitoring active treatment goals and Individual Service Plans (ISPs).


• Support resident growth and development across medical, social, educational, recreational, and personal areas.


• Train, coach, and model goal implementation for DSPs and other team members.


• Monitor goal documentation and complete quality assurance audits.


• Ensure resident equipment, supplies, and adaptive devices are available and in good working order.


• Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, and recreation professionals to support resident programming.


• Assist with therapeutic swimming and recreational activities.


• Maintain DSP competencies and provide direct support as needed.


• Support resident transportation and community outings.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED


• Minimum age of 18


• Valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 points


• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)


• Basic computer skills


• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

• One year of experience working with individuals with developmental or multiple disabilities


• College coursework in Recreation Therapy, Special Education, or a related field


• Microsoft Office proficiency

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently and assist with heavier transfers


• Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling


• Ability to participate in therapeutic swimming activities
