Activities Assistant for the Elderly

Location: Country Village, Chico

Position Type: Full-time, Wednesday-Sunday 10AM-6:30PM

We're seeking a motivated and caring Activities Assistant to help plan, organize, and lead engaging programs that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being for our elderly residents. Your efforts will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and leading group and individual activities (games, music, crafts, fitness, outings, etc.)
• Encourage resident participation in activities tailored to cognitive and physical abilities
• Support memory care programs with sensitivity to dementia and Alzheimer’s-related needs
• Help decorate activity spaces and create a vibrant, welcoming environment
• Provide companionship and emotional support during daily interactions
• Assist with documentation of attendance and resident engagement

General Skill Set

• Experience in caregiving, activities, or customer service is a plus
• Understanding of the aging process and dementia care practices
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
• Comfortable leading groups and engaging individuals one-on-one
• Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous experience with seniors or in a caregiving/activities role preferred
• Must pass background and health screening
