ACTIVITY DIRECTOR - Full-Time – Generations Applewood, Matteson, IL

Generations at Applewood in Matteson, IL, has an Immediate Opening for an Experienced and Dynamic Activities Director. This is a Full Time Position, Salary of $52K-$62K, Based on Experience.

Responsibilities of the Activity Director:

• Planning, organizing, coordinating and executing a diversified and well-planned activity program which includes recreational, religious, social, physical, intellectual and community-service oriented programs
• Creating and maintaining a positive atmosphere of warmth and kindness, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility
• Planning and implementing suitable activities for residents who are not able or willing to attend regularly-scheduled activities
• Ensure each patient is evaluated initially and periodically to determine his or her backgrounds, interests, abilities, physical and emotional needs and limitations for the purpose of planning meaningful programs

Requirements

of the Activity Director:

• Minimally, must have completed a 36 hour Activity Director course
• Three (3) years of experience in group activity programming or an equivalent
• Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH and HFS regulations relevant to activities
• Must have ability to teach, organize, initiate and take responsibility for programs
• Knowledge of the community and community resources
• Must be personable, professional and cooperative with all residents, families and staff
