Activity Director
Title: Activity Director
Starting Rate: To be discussed.
Position Summary: The Activity Director will be an essential role to the Alexandria Manor employee family.
Routine Functions of the Position:
· Plans, implements and evaluates activities for home residents.
· Designs programs to encourage socialization, participation, provide entertainment, relaxation and fulfillment, and improve daily living skills.
· Process and distribute all incoming mail, and forwarding mail as necessary.
· Maintain functioning activity room.
· Assist with making hairdresser appointments and such as needed for salon day.
· Practices responsible teamwork, participation in facility meetings and mandated state trainings.
· Helps kitchen staff with serving the three major meals of the day.
· Interacts and communicates with the residents and family members in a professional and respectful manner.
· Practices patience, compassion and empathy to all residents, family members, and fellow co-workers.
· Displays personal initiative to complete work assignments without constant supervision.
· Careful listening skills, being sensitive to other people.
· Commitment to confidentiality and HIPPA polices. Along with the personal policies of the home.
· Must have a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.
Other Requirements:
· Stand / Walk up to eight to twelve hours a day. Depending on shift.
· Occasionally lift / carry up to 50 pounds.
· Frequently kneel, bend, squat, climb and reach.
· Push / Pull up to 100 pounds.
· Use of basic office equipment. (Ex. Fax, Copier)
Minimum Qualifications:
· Experience: Preferred.
· Education: High School Diploma or GED.
· All required trainings will be though the company (Ex. CPR, Diabetic Training, HIPPA, and so on.)
