Actuary I, Annuity Financial Reporting - Remote

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Actuary I!

About the role

The RD Actuarial Financial Reporting team is looking for an actuary I to join the team! We are seeking an Actuary I to conduct financial reporting work for our payout annuity. You'll take ownership of our payout annuity financial reporting process.

What you will do

• Set STAT, GAAP and tax reserves in accordance with latest regulation requirements


• Maintain and enhance payout annuity financial reporting models


• Play a key role in payout annuity annual business planning project


• Collaborate with experience study team in developing actuarial assumptions


• Support other ad-hoc project as it relates to payout annuities


• May supervise analysts and actuarial students

Compensation

Salary Range: $103,300 – $172,200 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs

Who you are

• Bachelors degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background including college level mathematics.


• 4+ years of annuity related actuarial experience


• ASA designation preferred


• Experience with Python, SQL/Snowflake database skill preferred


• Strong communication skills


• Proven ability to work independently


• High school diploma required
