Acute Care Physical Therapist (PT) – Travel Position

Pay: $2,475/week

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Acute Care Physical Therapist (PT) to join a healthcare facility in Mesa, AZ, on a travel contract. The PT will provide comprehensive evaluations and treatments for patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing a diverse patient population with complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed patient assessments to determine physical function, mobility limitations, and rehabilitation goals.


• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in alignment with physician orders and facility protocols.


• Provide therapeutic interventions such as mobility training, strengthening exercises, and functional activities.


• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, safe mobility, and discharge planning.


• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and other therapists to ensure coordinated care.


• Document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately and timely.


• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment while upholding infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.


• Current and valid Physical Therapist license in Arizona (or compact license).


• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in acute care or hospital-based physical therapy.


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


• COVID vaccine and recent TB test.


• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
