Job Description - Acute Care RN

Description

This RN will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a variety of clinical settings. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document findings
     
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
     
  • Administer medications, treatments, and injections as prescribed
     
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team
     
  • Assist in medical procedures and exams
     
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care
     
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory standards
     
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols
     
  • Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals
     
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families
     

Requirements:

  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
     
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
     
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience preferred (new grads welcome in some positions)
     
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent
     
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required depending on the clinical setting (e.g., ER, ICU)
     
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications may be required for pediatric or neonatal units
     
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
     
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
     

Preferred Qualities:

  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
     
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
     
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
     
  • Commitment to patient advocacy and continuous learning
