Job Description - Adjunct Faculty - Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice (FA26)

The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology at Keene State College is seeking qualified applicants for an adjunct faculty position for the Fall 2026 semester. The position is to fill one course opening at the intermediate undergraduate level. The specific course to be taught is Corrections (CJS 201). This course must be taught in person.

Duties/Responsibilities

(50%)

  • Design and delivery of course content for credit courses.

(45%)

  • Preparation of lesson plans and course materials.

  • Assessment of student learning.

  • Assignment of grades.

  • Referring of students to support services where necessary.

  • When appropriate provision of supplemental instruction and mentorship to students.

(5%)

  • Comply with USNH and KSC policies; participate in appropriate department and/or unit meetings.

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Minimum qualifications for consideration are an academic background in Criminal Justice Studies and either a completed graduate degree Criminal Justice Studies/Criminology or professional/career experience in Correctional Facilities.

  • Preference will be given to applicants with both a graduate degree in Criminal Justice Studies/Criminology and professional/career experience in Correctional Facilities.  


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education and work qualifications listed above.

  • Lead-instructor teaching experience at the College/University level (in-person).

  • Knowledge of and ability to use Canvas learning information platform.

Compensation Pay Range:

$800/credit or $840/credit for those with terminal degrees
