Minimum Qualifications:


Education – Completion of a program or training in medical office technology public health, nutrition services, or related field is required. An Associate Degree is preferred.


Experience – A minimum of two (2) years related administrative or program support experience preferable in healthcare, public health, or community-based programs.


Licenses & Certification


Knowledge & Skills




  1. Knowledge of the IHS, and Muscogee (Creek) Nation Division of Health Administration, Contract Health Service and Tribal Health Policies and Procedures, safety procedures and filing




  2. Familiarity with nutrition programs, food access initiatives, or chronic disease prevention (preferred).




  3. Knowledge of medical terminology and of terminology and healthcare billing processes.




  4. Basic understanding of accounting procedures and budget tracking.




  5. Ability to manage data systems and electronic health or program databases.




  6. Proficiency utilizing a PC in a Windows environment and work with MCN Health patient




  7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks independently with minimal




  8. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and accurately complete assignments in a time manner. Incumbent should have excellent verbal and written communication




  9. Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, staff, and community partners orally and in writing.




JOB SUMMARY


The Food Is Medicine (FIM) Program Administrative Assistant provides administrative and programmatic support for nutrition-based health interventions designed to prevent and manage chronic disease. This position supports the coordination of nutrition-based health interventions, including produce prescription programs, nutrition education and community outreach initiatives.


The incumbent works closely with staff, community partners, and program participants to ensure efficient operations, accurate data tracking, and compliance with program and grant requirements


WORK ENVIRONMENT


Work is performed in an office and community-based setting. The position may involve interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and community organizations.


PHYSICIAL DEMANDS


Work involves standard office duties. Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and program needs. Light lifting may be required.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:




  1. Serves as the Food Is Medicine Director assistant and provides support to department staff as directed.




  2. Serves as point of contact for program inquiries, providing accurate information about Food Is Medicine services.




  3. Support coordination of program activities, including food distribution, nutrition education sessions and participant scheduling.




  4. Process purchase/financial requests within 30 days after receiving written requests.




  5. Prepare monthly reports, including budget tracking and program performance summaries.




  6. Supports program evaluation and outcome tracking.




  7. Provides general office support.




  8. Inventory and maintain office supplies, issues requisition for equipment, services and supplies.




  9. Support communication and coordination with healthcare providers, dietitians, vendors, and community partners.




  10. Provide administrative support for grant compliance and reporting requirements.




  11. Maintain organized filing systems for program operations.




  12. Regular attendance is required.




  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
