Description


The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide broad administrative, organizational, and clerical support. The position requires someone who is self-motivated, has a keen eye for detail, completes assignments timely, and can maintain the confidentiality and sensitivity of matters.  


Examples of Work


 


The Administrative Assistant II performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of the daily operations of the office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with case tracking, monitoring and tracking deadlines to ensure timely case progression, ordering and coordinating court transcripts, and preparing and routing judicial orders for review and signature.  The position also assists with coordinating hearings as needed, manages office supply inventory and ordering, and provides general administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the office. A variety of professional working relationships are established and maintained with State Courts System personnel, judges, judicial assistants, non-judicial officers, attorneys, and members of the public.


 


Education and Experience Guidelines


High School diploma or GED and two years of college or vocational school education in paralegal, secretarial skills, computer operations or a closely related field and three years of related experience. 


Competencies


Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Knowledge of the rules of English grammar, spelling, punctuation; Ability to compose, proof​​​​​​​read, and edit correspondence and reports; Communicate clearly and effectively; Maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive information; Work under pressure and meet deadlines; Establish work priorities.
