Job Description - Administrative Assistant - Opportunity to Make a Difference

Job Title: Office Manager - Learning Center

Work Schedule: Must be available between the hours of 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Position is 40 hours per week, consisting of 8 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid break.

Pay Rate: $27 per hour

Key Requirements/Intake Notes:

  • Requires strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Docs, and Google Sheets required.
  • Will support 2 Directors and a team of 11 Teaching Staff.
  • Must be tolerant of working in an environment with small children (18 months-5 years old).
  • Experience in childcare or educational environment is a bonus.
  • Center in session year-round.
  • Paid parking available in the area, but not reimbursed.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative tasks including greeting visitors, managing email inquiries, and maintaining records.
  • Financial functions such as expense reporting and procurement.
  • Facility management duties including maintaining appearance and managing deliveries.
  • Family and child support including creating a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Community relations involving explaining program offerings and coordinating events.
  • Staffing support including guiding part-time student aides and providing classroom coverage.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Some college and a minimum of three years of administrative experience; experience in a school or childcare center preferred.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Box.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic accounting and financial knowledge.
  • Strong interest in working with young children.
