Job Description - Administrative Assistant Tax


Description



Dean Dorton, one of the largest and most acclaimed certified public accounting and business advisory firms in the Southeast, has an opportunity for an experienced Tax Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position takes on a high level of responsibility in our firm and is critical to meeting the needs of our tax clients. This opportunity is available in our Raleigh, NC office.

What You’ll Be Doing 
  • Work within the support team and a project management system from start to finish of each tax return, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at a deadline-driven pace.
  • Serve as the primary administrative liaison to our clients for your assigned tax partners and leaders.
  • Facilitate the smooth operation of client management including the onboarding process for new tax clients in Dean Dorton’s systems and providing regular updates to client information as necessary.
  • Ensure delivery of client documents are performed adequately and efficiently, both electronically through our secured electronic portals and via standard mail/shipping.  
  • Compose and proof general correspondence including letters, memos, reports, presentations, and emails.
  • Organize and schedule meetings, including location, invitations, catering, and room and equipment preparation.  
  • Coordinate travel logistics and associated expense report preparation for partners and service group leaders
  • Provide general administrative activities including organizing and maintaining electronic filing systems, processing paperwork, copying/filing, and prioritizing calls/mail. 
  • Handle highly confidential information and various administrative project support as needed.
  • Provide backup to various roles within the Administrative Support and Operations team, including document processing during peak workload periods, front desk backup, general routine office duties, and other administrative functions as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Dedication to a career with a proven background serving as an Administrative Assistant, as a part of an Administrative Support Team, or in customer service.
  • Ability to perform administrative duties with speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision, by setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and Adobe.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Background and experience in a Professional Services firm, including fraud, legal, or accounting firm is a plus.
  • Experience with CCH Axcess Practice, Workstream, Pacer and Power BI are a plus.
