The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, ensuring efficient daily operations and effective communication across departments. This role is responsible for managing the Cath Lab schedule, posting procedures accurately, scheduling pre-admission testing (PAT) appointments, and handling patient and staff communications with professionalism and discretion. The Administrative Assistant also supports department leadership with meeting coordination, payroll processing, staff scheduling, and special projects. Serving as a liaison between internal teams, external vendors, and patients, the individual in this role must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a clerical or administrative support role.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience in a health care setting or surgical services preferred.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Neat in appearance with a personable, tactful, and courteous manner in dealing with a wide variety of people.
• Position involves planning, judgement, and rapid adjustment to the unexpected.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; proficient with computers to include keyboarding, basic navigation and use of email.
• Ability to work with multi-line phone and computer systems accurately and efficiently.
• Effective customer service and relationship building skills with patients, visitors and staff; ability to respect dignity of all patients and follow HIPAA rules without breaches in confidentiality.
• Ability to transcribe documents.
• Proficient listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Unit and annual competencies to be completed each year.
• Annual education required per hospital certification(s).
