Administrative Assistant – Erath Center


Location: Ranger College Erath Center
Reports To: Vice President, Erath Center



Position Summary


The Administrative Assistant for the Erath Center provides comprehensive administrative, clerical, and customer service support to ensure efficient daily operations. This position serves as a primary point of contact for students, staff, and visitors while supporting the Vice President of the Erath Center and assisting with a variety of student services functions, including basic advising and enrollment support.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Provide administrative support to the Vice President of the Erath Center, including general clerical and office assistance.

  • Greet visitors in a professional and welcoming manner and direct them to appropriate departments or personnel.

  • Provide accurate information about the College to prospective students, current students, and visitors.

  • Assist with advising students and help guide them through the enrollment process.

  • Collect student payments, post payments accurately, and prepare daily deposits.

  • Issue student IDs and badges and assist with setting up banking information for loan disbursements.

  • Assist students with registration for TSI testing and final exams.

  • Support the administration of tests by assisting with proctoring TSI exams and finals as needed.

  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and correspondence.

  • Maintain, organize, and purge files and records in accordance with institutional guidelines.

  • Create, prepare, and type reports, correspondence, and forms as needed.

  • Provide general secretarial support to office personnel and assist in meeting project deadlines.

  • Place center supply orders, including janitorial supplies, and create purchase orders for the Erath Center.

  • Collaborate with other departments to support student services and campus operations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications



  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Basic knowledge of office procedures and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software applications.



Recommended Qualifications



  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Information Technology, Education, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of work-related experience in an administrative, clerical, customer service, or student services role.

  • Licensure/Certification: None required.



ANNUAL SALARY/BENEFITS: Highly competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials. Group health and life insurance (60 day waiting period for health) and retirement benefits (TRS or ORP). Optional benefits include vision, disability and dental insurance.
