Job Description - Administrative Assistant/Front Desk

Job Summary 


The Administrative Assistant/Front Desk employee must be a detailed-oriented person with a heart to serve at Cornerstone Christian Academy and the ability to work efficiently in a changing environment. This individual will demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in all interactions with students, families, volunteers, and staff. He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord, relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance, and completing all tasks with excellence.


 


Minimum Qualifications



  • Minimum age of 18 required; age of 21 preferred

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 1-3 years of experience in an administrative support role preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Quick learner

  • Public relations skills

  • Highly organized 

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Problem solver

  • Efficient worker who is able to complete tasks in a timely manner


Technologies



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite


Physical Capabilities



  • Able to walk and stand for prolonged periods

  • Able to perform prolonged seated desk work at a computer

Work Hours/Travel



  • 40 hours per week on site; able to work overtime if needed


 


Job Functions and Tasks 


Essential Functions



  • Effectively communicates with Manager concerning any needs, issues, or concerns 

  • Maintains an orderly, organized, and professional environment within the front office and mail room

  • Answers phone calls and gives information to callers, takes messages, or transfers calls to appropriate individuals

  • Greets visitors, checks them in through the visitor management system, and assists with needs; informs appropriate staff or directs visitors to the appropriate places

  • Maintains confidentiality at all times and communicates sensitive information to the appropriate individuals

  • Understands the daily school schedule in detail, knows where grade levels are located at various times throughout the day, and can quickly find students or staff when needed

  • Operates equipment such as computers, printers/copiers, radios, and phone systems

  • Prepares (or willing to learn to prepare) reports, letters, expense statements, and other documents using word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), or presentation (PowerPoint) software

  • Learns to operate new office technologies as they are developed and implemented

  • Maintains daily attendance records and reports school attendance daily to the principals

  • Presents morning announcements daily
