The Consortium of Universities for Global Health is seeking to fill this position.

Location: Washington, DC, in person

The Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) is a Washington, DC based nonprofit organization that collaborates with academic institutions, governments, INGOS, NGOS, think tanks, the private sector and other partners to improve the well-being of people and the planet. It works in an interdisciplinary manner across education, research, service, and advocacy to achieve its mission. CUGH is dedicated to creating equity and reducing health disparities, everywhere. The Consortium also promotes mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships among universities and partners in resource-rich and resource-poor countries to develop human capital, strengthen institutional capabilities and expand opportunities for academic global health programs.

Position Summary
The Administrative Associate plays a crucial and dynamic role in the day-to-day operations of CUGH.  This role offers excellent growth opportunities and a chance to be part of a team addressing contemporary domestic and global challenges. The Associate will help to promote a positive work culture and shape CUGH’s organization.

Administrative Associate Responsibilities

Office Operations and Support
  • Monitor and manage the general inbox and mail. Responding to general correspondence while redirecting high-priority requests to the appropriate team member
  • Oversee IT systems. Can manage CUGH’s general & events website and communication platforms. (X, Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin etc)
  • Provide basic bookkeeping for the organization’s online bills and payments using MCT and Sage Intaact.
  • Administer and help manage software and online tools, such as Member Clicks, Microsoft Teams etc
  • Calendar management and committee support as needed
  • Serve as the administrative liaison to the Board, coordinating meeting schedules, travel arrangements, and logistics for both virtual and in-person meetings
  • Provide support to the Executive Director for meetings, board meeting preparation, and slide deck preparation
Events & Communication
  • Provide administration support to the Events and Membership Manager (EMM)
  • Format communication material and strategies from the Executive Director for CUGH: press releases, media engagement, events, webinars and newsletters
  • Support the team on administration and logistics for events

  • Hard working and highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow through and follow up on tasks. Works well as part of a team and individually. Is a self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Possesses IT, systems and project management skills
  • Possesses basic bookkeeping skills.
  • Has the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize workload proactively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Has an understanding of public health, global health or one health or international development
  • A positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
 QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, an undergraduate degree, an understanding of global or public health or a related field. Is able to work in the US, lives in the DC area and will work in person in CUGH’s office Monday-Friday, 9am -5 pm.
