Job Description - Administrative (Commercial) Coordinator

Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Commercial Coordinator will provide administrative support for all raw material purchasing and position tracking. 

REPORTS TO: Chief Commercial Officer

SUPERVISES: N/A

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate purchase orders and email to suppliers with direction from Commercial / Industrial team
  • Close complete purchase orders and take ownership of PO book
  • Provide support for settlements, purchase order book and lot book oversight
  • Compile raw material data for weekly buying positions
  • Support and reporting of raw inventory levels and wheel count numbers
  • Inventory control by collecting data and reports from plants
  • Facilitate inbound with Logistics and S&R managers to ensure OTD (On Time Delivery)
  • Support for data entry for load sheets and appointment software
  • Update and distribute Platts and Fastmarket indexes daily
  • Distribute Metal Source buying guides, pricing index, and market index to commercial team
  • Review and communicate to Commercial/Industrial team regarding aging PO’s
  • Back up Materials Coordinator and Customer Service Representative as needed
  • Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior industry experience with manufacturing / metals preferred but not required
  • Minimum 1 year office environment experience

COMPETENCIES:

  • Self-starter that takes initiative with a high attention to detail
  • Strong customer service attributes including interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, and Inventory Software (Shared Logic)
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs
  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Involves sitting most of the time.
  • Visual Acuity: ability to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned including to make general observations of facilities.
